Max

One of a kind big gentle giant. Standing 16.2 1/2 hands, Max is one big boy, but don’t let his size intimidate you. He is as kind and gentle as they come. Max is 1/2 Percheron and 1/2 Paint/ Quarter Horse and has been DNA tested. Max has an amazing lope that is very smooth and comfortable to ride. He takes his leads nicely with just a little leg and kiss. He has a nice jog that you can sit all day and a huge long trot that will really cover some country. He’s soft and supple in his face and rib cage and will easily guide and maneuver from your hands or legs.

Max loves people and will be the first one to greet you when he sees you in the pasture and will kicker at you from his stall eagerly seeking your attention. He will drop his head to the ground to be haltered, bridled and clipped. Max takes care of his people and can be trusted with a very beginner rider. He has packed around children including an adorable 3 yr old little girl. He’s safe, sane, and trustworthy. Nothing spooks or scares him. I think he truly knows how big he is, but would never use his size and strength to be a bully. His sweet nature and loving personality will give you all the confidence in the world.

Max has been ridden out on big ranches, up in the mountains, out in the desert and everywhere in between. He will go right where you send him and he knows exactly where his feet are. Max lays down on command with trust and confidence around blowing tarps, crazy dogs and loud gunfire. He will boldly cruise down busy highways with traffic and bicycles. He is good around heavy machinery, cattle, pigs, buffalo and wild life.

Oh and did I mention, Max pulls a wagon! Anyone that can hold the reins, can drive this handsome gelding. He’s been used in weddings, parades, and out on the ranch to feed livestock. He has an off switch, just say “whoa” and he stands like a wooden Indian. Drop a rein and he will ground tie all day. He will side pass to open all gates and knows his way over all the trail obstacles. Max will be your best buddy out on the trails, a pleasure in the arena, and a blast to cruise around in the wagon. He is always gentle to saddle and drive even with substantial time off. This is a big fun gelding that is strikingly handsome and gets attention everywhere he goes.
