I often use Bart on the ranch as well, moving cattle, where he is great at reading cattle and helping me get the job done. Bart is great for going all day in the mountains. He grew up on the plains and in the volcanic rocks and is the most sure-footed horse I have ever ridden. Even at high speeds, chasing cattle or colts through rocky country, he is excellent at rating his own stride and has never once tripped!
I have used Bart as a lesson horse to teach movie actors how to ride a western horse, and every student has loved him. Even though he is great at lead departures and is by no means lazy, he is never one to "take off" with a student by accident.
Bart is easy-going. Even if you don't ride him for a month or two, you can still pull him out of his stall and climb right on! Easy to lead, easy to trailer, and easy for the farrier! If you are looking for an all-around ranch horse with plenty of cow savvy, Bart is a great choice!
